In the academic year 2009 - 2010 an international cooperation was established between the Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht, Department Jewellery and Product design; the Provinciale Hogeschool Limburg, MAD-Faculty (Media, Arts & Design), Objects & Jewellery and the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf, Department Applied Art and Design. From each institute twelve students participated in this project. They were supervised by the teachers of the guest studios each having his own perspective. The output that is presented in this catalogue is
a very diverse collection of jewellery based upon an inspiring travel
story “Crystal Mountain” especially written for this occasion by art historian Barbara Maas and presented by her on a united take-off.
With this story in the back of their minds the students went to the
three cities to immerse locally in the studios of the various institutes as well as in the guest town. On the basis of these impressions and experiences forming a guide line for their idea development they individually followed a creative track. Hard work resulted finally in a captivating mix of expressive jewellery.

The composed Collection was shown in Hasselt at the Mode museum, Maastricht (‘t Brandweer, SAM) and in Düsseldorf at the University of Applied Sciences, Campus North"
